The purpose of the fund is to work non-profit in support of the conservation and development of nature, the protection of wild flora and fauna (animal and plant species), as well as to create areas, where nature can evolve as far as possible on its own terms. This purpose can be obtained by the following:
The purpose of the company and the fund can be performed directly by the fund, through its subsidiaries, through independent organisations, associations and companies or through other collaborators.
The purpose can be implemented by the fund (including its subsidiaries) running any type of commercial business or activity, as long as these do not conflict substantially with the purpose, as well as through the reception of donations.
Areas that at any time are supported with wherewithal from the fund, whether they are owned by the fund or elsewhere, must at no time be subject to public or private hunting or fishing activities. When entering into agreements the board shall continuously ensure that the fund’s collaborators comply with this criteria.
The board can on recommendation of its scientific board members exceptionally and in isolated cases give permission to the putting down of independent animals on the areas, provided that this is justified in regards to considerations of natural resource management and animal ethics.
