The economic model is based on the concept of Novel Nature (Henrik Vejre), where funds from commercial real estate activities are funneled into nature projects.
Kaj Kjær Flora & Fauna’s economy is based on the founding capital and recurring income from and rate of return on the foundation’s assets. The economic model profits from investments in nature (Real estate), where the resource and current economic/ecologic models are not sufficient in comparison to the challenges the world is facing regarding the current climate adjustment and biodiversity crisis. i.e., having farmland which is only economic worthwhile because of EU Agricultural subsidies, which in essence make the agricultural usage of the real estate a parasite on the EU subsidy of agricultural industry.
We cooperate with regulatory bodies and business/commercial parties. We see it as our obligation to enhance a sustainable local economy, entwined with cultural values, and resources wherever we operate.
In our Nature Reserve Monk’s Dune, in Northern Jutland, we cooperate with the Municipality of Jammerbugt, The Danish Nature Agency, the Municipality of Brønderslev, local schools and tourism organizations. We do not exclude potential partners based on their current operations or beliefs. We will include all interested partners in our projects to share our knowledge vision and endeavours to reach the overall purpose of Novel Nature.

Peter’s intention is to contribute to a sustainable development with nature as the leverage towards eco-friendly and considered tourism, development of nature in all of Denmark as well as the rest of the planet. His ambition is to inspire others to cooperate and invest with a focus on a green approach and with the background of love for nature around the world. The economic model is inspired by other comparable, where foundations from commercial real estate activities are funnelled into nature projects (Internationally referred to as “red for green”).
Kaj Kjær Flora & Fauna’s economy is partially based on the founding capital and partially on recurring income from and rate of return on the Foundations assets. The construction benefits investments in nature, where the public resources are all or partially insufficient in comparison to the challenges society is facing regarding the current climate adjustment and biodiversity crisis.
The Foundation has a great cooperation with the public regulatory bodies, in particular the Municipality of Jammerbugt and The Danish Nature Agency, as well as the Municipality of Brønderslev. The Foundation also has a constructive dialogue with the local tourism and business parties. There is a wish from the foundations side to contribute to a sustainable local economy based on inherent, cultural values and resources.
