We started our work south of Løkken, Denmark, in 2018. Today Kaj Kjær Flora & Fauna own and manage almost 100 hectares (ha) of land in Northern Jutland, where we work for nature to unfold on its own premises every single day.
The Kjær family has enjoyed coming to their family summer house by the Northern Sea since the 1960’s, when Grethe and Kaj Kjær, parents of Peter Kjær (chairman and founder of Kaj Kjær Flora & Fauna), bought a summer house on Fannysvej. The summer house is located right next to the scenic and protected dune landscape, the Monk’s Dune, only 4 kilometers South from Løkken, a Danish seaside town in the Northern part of Jutland.
Over the last 12 years Peter Kjær has invested his time and money in his life calling: to give nature the best possible conditions, which have been manifested in several projects in Hong Kong, China, a forest in Transylvania and in properties and land in Colorado, USA.
When Peter’s father, Kaj Kjær, passed away in 2015, Peter decided to do more for nature in Denmark. At first in the protected dune landscape surrounding the Monk’s Dune. This resulted in the creation of the foundation, Kaj Kjær Flora & Fauna, with respect and love for his father, who throughout his life has given the Kjær family so many wonderful experiences by the Northern Sea. These experiences have contributed to ensure the Kjær family’s set of values concerning healthy and beautiful conditions for wild nature together with its inhabitants; flora, fauna (animals), as well as humans.
