THE CONNECTION BETWEEN BLOKHUS AND LØKKEN STRENGTHENED
Realdania supports Hjørring and Jammerbugt municipalities in developing Blokhus-Løkken into a single destination. The municipalities receive just over DKK 3 million to connect the two cities with a path for pedestrians and cyclists.

Peter Kjær, chairman and founder of the Kaj Kjær Flora & Fauna Foundation, shares his reflections on last year's ‘Naturmødet’ (Nature meeting) recurring statement: ‘From talk to action’. Kaj Kjær Flora & Fauna works with ‘Eco Inferno’ and with ‘Skin in the game’, ‘All hands on deck’ and in action. In a democracy it is the duty of every voter to hold the elected representatives accountable on an ongoing basis. Do they live up to everything they promised?

The previous owner of Thorsgaard, Jens Amstrup-Bønløkke (5th generation), has received status as ambassador in Kaj Kjær Flora & Fauna. Jens is looking forward to working with KKFF on spreading the purpose of creating more nature in Denmark that can evolve on it’s own premises.

FIRST SCHOLARSHIPS TO SHORT-TERM STUDY RETREATS FOR RESEARCHERS AND STUDENTS
The retreat ran from 8th-21st of August
The retreat is a combination of visits from the University of Copenhagen, the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, and the field station in northern Jutland, south of Løkken. At the university the guests get an introduction and an excursion led by executive board member, Prof. Ph.D. Henrik Vejre and assisting professor, Zhaowu Yu. In North Jutland there is a program led by Chief of Secretary, Marianne Fisker, with assignments, excursions and socializing.
THE SCHOLARSHIPS WERE GRANTED TO:
Jiang Liu, Associate Professor at school of Architecture and Urban-Rural Planning, Fuzhou University, China. Research focus on soundscape and landscape planning; Dongyang Yang, PhD, Lecturer, Key Research Institute of Yellow River Civilization and Sustainable Development, Henan University, China. Proficient in using professional GIS; Yingnan LI,PhD, Assistant Professor, Dep. of Environmental Design, Jiangsu University, China. Specialist in monitoring microclimate; Siqi Lan, Master Degree at school of Architecture and Urban-Rural Planning, Fuzhou University, China. Research focus on Landscape Preference; Jinguang Zhang, PhD student at Nanjing Forestry University, Landscape Architecture Department, China, Guest-PhD student at University of Copenhagen, IGN. Specialist in landscape planning.
